“Through Our Creativity, We Live” Original Acrylic Painting 2021
Inspired by a speech by President Michael D Higgins in 2020 I created this piece amalgamating the speech, some of my own writings and of course beautiful colours.
30x30cm original Acrylic painting on deep edge gesso primed canvas created using brushwork, my own writings and white pen.
“It’s not always raining but the days are longer now. The air has come alive with the cold. I reached out my hand, they touched my palm, the paintings of fire there in the sky. The light that falls so fast.
Sun on the rise or rain and blue skies. All happy times and new kinds of highs. With every breath we take a new day awakens.
Watch and listen, bright mornings come again. Continuing to dream, continuing to encourage. Starry nights getting colder and dreams getting longer.
Continue to create, continue to dance, continue the journey, continue to chance.
I reached out my hand, they touched my palm. The fountains of fire dance here in the sky. The light falls fast.
Sun on the rise…take it in, let it all out. Sun on the rise, rain and blue skies.”
Finished with a high quality satin varnish.
